Tuska 2016 gathers 9000 metalheads to Suvilahti

19th Tuska started in great weather with lots of sunshine and warmth. Avantasia just closed the first festival day and for the first time in Tuska’s history the headliner played until midnight. Also a brand new Helsinki Stage that was built in a tent allowed for example Behemoth to present their impressive The Satanist show involving lights and pyrotechnics.

The festival site also saw numerous improvements including  the aforementioned tent stage, speaker oriented Solmusali, multiple special bars, football studio, sauna and food court that offered large array of different cuisines. In Tuska you can eat for example fine dining, burgers, indian, sushi, italian, mexican and straight forward home style cooked food.

On the band side, the Festival was opened by Cattle Decapitation and the band gathered a very decent crowd right from the start. The spanking new tent stage was opened by Delain. One of the most expected shows of the day was definitely Lordi’s The Arockalypse 2006 Redux Show. Kvelertak offered a very energetic performance on the tent stage and the title for the most surprising band went to Japan’s very own Man With A mission. The tent stage was closed by Behemoth with their The Satanist show involving impressive light and pyrotechics. Avantasia closed the first day of Tuska with their two hour set where multiple guests including Micheal Kiske and Eric Martin were seen on stage.

Friday gathered 9000 metalheads to Suvilahti. Tickets for Saturday are still available, but they will be sold out, so if one wants to buy, one should head to nearest ticket store. All Turbo-Vips are already sold out.

Tomorrow Tuska opens its gates 13:00 and on stage will be seen for example Ghost’s only show in Finland this summer, Anthrax, Turmion Kätilöt, Diablo and Stam1na. See few highlights below. All photos by Jesse Kämäräinen // www.haje.fi
